Toffee
I got this recipe from a good friend who is a fantastic cook. We have doubled the recipe because we like the way it fits on the cookie sheet better (we like a thicker toffee).
| 1 | c | butter |
| 1 | Tbsp | Corn Syrup |
| 2 | c | Sugar |
| 3 | Tbsp | water |
Bring to rolling boil
Clip candy thermometer on the side of pan. Stir and boil until candy thermometer reads 290 - hard boil stage.
Pour candy onto buttered cookie sheet. DO NOT SCRAPE THE BOTTOM OF THE PAN!
After 5 minutes place 1 cups milk chocolate chips over toffee.
Wait 3 minutes and spread melted chocolate with back of spoon. Sprinkle with chopped almonds.
Cool and break into pieces.
